synopsis: pre-game

Ever since Ellone was born, she was gifted with a strange ability to experience the past of people she has met. Sorceress Ultimecia from the future was looking for Ellone for her ability through Sorceress Adel, the ruler of Esthar. Adel went as far as kill Ellone's parents while searching.

After being orphaned, a woman named Raine took Ellone under her wing. They moved to Winhill, and the president of Galbadia ordered soldiers to protect the little village and it's precious girl. When Ellone was about 3 years old, Laguna appeared injured. After being nursed back into health he decided to stay in Winhill and help the soldiers to protect the town. Somewhere along the years he resided in the town, he and Raine got married and she got pregnant. Then, new troubles arised as Ellone got kidnapped by Esthar soldiers.Adel had finally gotten her and she was in the hands of Odine, a scientist, who was interested in this ability of hers.

Laguna went on a journey to get Ellone back. He went all the way to Esthar and had to work for Odine for some time (I'm a bit fuzzy on the details) until he got Ellone back. At some point here he fought against Adel, sent her to space and Ellone back to Winhill to Raine. He himself had some business left in Esthar.

Now, it's never been revealed, did Raine die at Squall's birth or later on, but the thing is, that she called out for Laguna, and Ellone was very sad, that he couldn't be with Raine, when she needed the most. It wasn't until later on that she found out why.

After Raine died, Laguna sent her and Squall to Edea's orphanage at the Centra coast. He thought it was too dangerous for them to be in Esthar, and he was busy with his duties. So, that little stone structure was where she spent the next years of her life. When Ellone was 9:ish, she had to leave the orphanage, since Edea thought it too dangerous for her to stay. The little children were all devastated about her depart, but Squall was the worst. He lost a sister when she left.

Edea moved Ellone to the White SeeD ship. In time this ship had grown into an orphanage, too. Ellone was safe in here and took care of the children. This was her home for the next 10 years.

synopsis: Game

During disc one Ellone was at Balamb Garden. In the very beginning she saw Squall for the first time after a very long period of time.

"Squall, so we meet again."

But Squall was a little out of it, and he did not recocgnise Ellone. He asked Quistis about her but she did not know and Seifer called him a 'puberty boy'.

The second meeting was in the training center after the graduation ball. Ellone was being attacked by a fiend. After Squall and Quistis defeated the fiend, Ellone was taken by white suited men (the White SeeD). Even though Ellone recognised them ("Squall? Quisty?"), they did not know her.

The third meeting was at disc two, after the garden started moving. White SeeD came to take Ellone and Squall had to find her. She was sitting in the library. They had a brief discussion about remembering and Squall finally realized it was her who took them to Laguna's past. Squall became a little depressed after Ellone's whisper.

"You're my only hope."

He watched her leave to the sunset.

We don't hear from Ellone again until disc three, when Squall needs her ability to get to Rinoa's past and find out what happened to her (she's in a come at this point). The whole gang went to Edea's orphanage and asked for a way to find the White SeeD. Aboard the ship they find out Ellone had already left. She had played with the children and been very joyful during her short stay at the ship, but a while before Squall came she had left with the Esthar soldiers. None of the SeeD knew why she left, but the leave had been rather rash.

So the main party travels to Esthar to find help for Edea and to find Ellone. They were launched into space, where Rinoa gets posessed by Ultimecia. Squall wants Ellone to meet her, so she could sent him to Rinoa's past. When they escaped in the capsule, Ellone used her abilities and Squall stayed in space to find Rinoa. After they come back, you can find the capsule south of Esthar, but Ellone is not there.

You found out that she has been kidnapped. Again. She is being kept in the Lunatic Pandora to make time compression happen. Luckily for us, Squall comes in and saves the day. After defeating Fujin and Raijin and Mobile Type 8, Squall and his friends stumble in on Seifer and his posse holding Ellone captive. When Squall enters the scene (I have a high suspicion of the next part), Fujin and Raijin let Ellone go to Laguna and try to speak some sense into Seifer's thick skull.

As you may know, it does not really work. So Seifer and Adel are defeated, and while Rinoa is feeling Adel and Ultimecia lurking inside her still, Ellone achieves Time Compression.

The next scene we see Ellone in (except for a reference to her by little Squall at the orphanage - that is one determined boy) is the ending. Time Compression and Ultimecia are defeated and Laguna is visiting Raine's grave. We see Ellone running down the hill to Laguna and they smile at each other.

After this? Only fanfiction and imagination can tell.
